„Tango Sun Festival 2008”

In the framework of the „Tango Sun Festival 2008” there will be 30 tango workshops (WS) with four teacher couples - Adrian Veredice & Alejandra Hobert (Argentina), Salvador & Ilona Rios (Germany), Andreas von Maxen & Laura Priori (Germany) and Aigars Stirna & Ginta Opmane (Latvia).

Every evening there will be milongas with DJs from Germany – DJ Andreas Binninger, DJ Andreas von Maxen and DJ Carsten Heveling – and DJ from Latvia (on Sunday) – DJ Aigars. On Friday and Saturday threre will be milongas with live music – Jonatan Blaty and Roman Gomez from Argentina (Friday) and trio „Muzet Royal” from Berlin/Germany (Saturday).

The main place for workshops and milongas will be the elegant hotel „Baltic Beach Hotel” with the view to the Baltic sea.

The workshops are noted with mark (levels 1-5) regarding different tango experience of dancers:

1.level – for beginners with no or little Argentinian tango experience;

2.level – intermediate-basic, for tango dancers with basic knowleadge and experience less than one year;

3.level – intermediate-advanced, for tango dancers with experience about one year;

4.level – advanced-basic, for tango dancers with experience about 1-2 years;

5.level – advanced-advanced level, for tango dancers with experience more than 2-4 years.

Attention: Workshops WS-8 "Barridas y tomadas", WS-12/WS-21 "Milonga II", WS-24 "Vals II", WS-19 "Volcadas", WS-20 "Sacadas" and WS-29 "Colgadas" are full.

Due to too few registrations for WS 10 (new milonguero style) and due to too many registrations for the parallel WS 8 (barridas and tomadas) we agreed with the trainers to CHANGE THE TOPIC FOR WS 10. The new topic is called "Atrapadas - playing with feet and legs". Atrapadas are the "nearest" structure towards barridas and tomadas and we hope participants will be satisfied with this too.



We kindly ask all participants who do not have a place in WS 8 to choose the new WS 10, which is close in topic and dancing level (3-4). We also kindly ask participants of  WS 10 to inform us if they can accept the change and will still participate in the WS 10.

Attention: the programme was modified on 21 May: Workshop 15a is new, Topics of  WS 5,6,15 and 15a have been defined, for  WS 23-29 the order in the schedule has changed. For registration please use the actual numbering. If you have registered beforehand we will contact you and clarify the courses you want to book.

Milonga I a and b (WS2 and WS 18) is a Double Course with the topic "Milonga-Traspie", it is ONE topic over TWO courses in sequence. Milonga IIa and b (WS 12 and WS 21) is a Double Course with the topic "Rhythmic tricks and games in the Milonga" , it is as well ONE topic over TWO courses. These courses are meant to be booked as double course.

For the WS 13, 22 and 26 (Tango for beginners) persons can register without partner, no matter if  leader or follower.
